Cleveland Alzheimer’s firmly believe that a skilled and knowledgeable workforce improves the standard of the services we provide and helps staff achieve greater job satisfaction. The purpose of Training & Development is to ensure that all employees have the skills and knowledge to perform their job roles effectively now and in the future and to encourage employees to meet their full potential consistent with the needs of the organisation.
Cleveland Alzheimer’s Training Department has its own Training Suite. We have a fully functioning computer room and a large training/meeting room which serves many purposes. The main focus of the Training Department is to provide employees with the right training to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to meet the high demands which come with working in the area of dementia services. We either do this by using our internal trainers or sourcing external training by using preferred providers. Employees can access the computers in the Training Suite for e-learning, research or study.
All new employees will receive a comprehensive induction as well as mandatory training which employees need to complete and update when required. This includes: Safeguarding, Dementia, Health & Safety, Fire Prevention, Infection Prevention & Control and Manual Handling.
Clevearc places emphasis on validating and evaluating training to ensure that T&D activity meets desired outcomes of Cleveland Alzheimer’s Ethos and Vision. Any training which is evaluated as ineffective, will be examined and either improved or an alternative sought.
